"I was born to be a Cricketer, I always knew it." You hear this only if the person is already a cricketer.
"I was perhaps born to be a Cricketer, I should have followed my dream" You would hear this only if the person has become something totally different from a cricketer. And obviously they will have a list of people to blame for this.
But if anyone had chosen to be a cricketer and was not very successful, then the phrase changes slightly - its no more assertive, but its a question - "was I born to do this??"
How many people know what exactly they want to do in their life, something like - Yes! This is the thing, this is what I want to be, and this is what I want to do in my life in future. Ask your self, If one word doesn't come up straight away (you will not have to think for this), then you perhaps are doing the right thing now. Stop complaining, if you are.
If you come up with a profession spontaneously, even then, it should not change every 2 years as you grow up. What I believe in is that if anyone wants to seriously be something then no matter what they will find a way to. It’s just how badly you want it.
Let’s assume the person pursues the goal, then what...
The point of no return, well every instant in life is one. You never can experience the moments passed by, again, they just go by, good or bad, we can have anything similar but not the same, never.
We believe tat we are in here for a purpose, a goal. A place where you want to get to, desperately and when you get there then you feel the sense of achievement, and when you don’t get there then its a constant exasperation.
What does this actually mean, that you have something you want to get to and though there is a great jubilation when you get there, but a subtle thought, all through the pursuit you miss out on the million small instants, the minute moments, because you are never satisfied all through the chase. Well, true, the satisfaction experienced is quite inferior when compared to ultimate goal.
It still won’t be the ultimate goal. It never can be. I know it, we all know it, because the end of one is just the beginning of another, its just another wild goose chase, isn’t never going to get over till you are over.
a quick example - say u want to be an entrepreneur, first your have a start up, you achieve that and then you want to expand it, then go on and on. Even the Fortune 1 out of 500 companies has its targets set for every quarter. Proves it never gets over
What’s the point, if we miss out on all the things all along the path for just one thing which isn't even the destination, yeah! it is but not for ever, just a pit stop to refuel self for the journey ahead, till the next one, it never gets over.
All the instants now, the moments now, sacrificed or more appropriately lost all during the journey. Every moment now is spent fending for the next; every instant now is spent searching for the satisfaction of the next.
I will give u a classic example, Michael Schumacher. To the world, anyone would want to be him. He is rich, he is famous, champion ships, success, he has the family, he has the girl, he has everything that a man watching him on TV or a newspaper can think of. But have you ever imagined, this chap has had the least number of free Sundays. Is that a life, i mean, you practice through the week, you race on Sunday. You do this routine all through the year, except for the off season and that’s about 3 or 4 months. Mind you, 3 or 4 months doesn't mean vacation, he still will have to practice at least once a while. I mean Michael Schumacher might just be the only man on face of planet of earth who has had the least number of weekends to sit and relax at home with family in his life. C’mon for god’s sake!! It is a 7 day week at work.
You call that a life!, till the age u retire!!, you don't see your family for almost all the year. You don't even know what family life is. People!!!! That is an abnormal life style.
In the end, what he got, a rack full of Trophies and a few more thousand million dollars added to already existing thousands of million dollars.
Don’t over do any thing - It might just give you a tomorrow with regret.
We keep living for tomorrow, and missing out on today, but what we miss out is when tomorrow arrives, there is another tomorrow following it.
so live today ,because the tomorrow isn't even certain.
